LABEL YOUR BOXES. This will minimize future frustration when unpacking.

PACK LIKE ITEMS TOGETHER.

ALWAYS PUT THE LARGER AND HEAVIER BOXES ON THE BOTTOM. Stack lighter boxes on top to keep from crushing your valuables.

ITEMS THAT WILL NEED FREQUENT ACCESS should be placed towards the front of your storage unit.

WHEN POSSIBLE, USE BUBBLE WRAP.  Printed paper can rub off and ruin the integrity of your personal items.

REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS SHOULD BE PROPERLY DEFROSTED.  Open all doors and drawers to allow for adequate ventilation and drying.

COVER YOUR FURNITURE WITH BLANKETS, SHEETS OR MOVING PADS TO PROTECT FROM SCRATCHING AND DUST.

TRY AND USE PLASTIC STORAGE CONTAINERS.  For the most part, these are air tight, they stack well and can be reused in the future.

RECYCLE YOUR BOXES AFTER USE.

LAYOUT YOUR STORAGE UNIT PRIOR TO PACKING THE MOVING TRUCK. Organization will help you maximize the use of your space.

ASK FOR YOUR FRIEND'S HELP.  That's what they are there for...just make sure you reward them with pizza and beer afterwards.
